Blog with Comments
Tue 29/November/2011 at 07:33
Hi all, the next release of ProjectCMS now has the option of allowing visitors to comment on blog posts. Once this feature has been tested for security I will update the script on this site so we can get some communication going on.
The next release will most likely be named ProjectCMS 2.1.x as I'm now getting confused with all the 2.0.x folders on my computer!
Also the ModRewrite via .htaccess has been perfected, on the completed script there will be an option to turn on/off the SEO URL's.
Other news, on completion of ProjectCMS 2.0.x I will be releasing stand alone versions of the Blog & Gallery scripts, they will have all their CSS/templates removed to create some simple scripts that can be easily integrated with any other site.
Bye for now.

Work is still ongoing

As some of you may have noticed, ProjectCMS 2.0 Beta still hasn't been released. The project isn't dead (ok it did lay dormant for a little while), it's just being perfected.
Some of the new features that are to be implemented into what will be 2.? or 2.0.? are as follow:
*The use of ModRewrite, which will be enabled/disabled via the admin panel, currently being tested on this site.
*The blog script will contain a WYSIWYG editor, rather than the plain text box it currently has.
*The option will be added for users to comment on blog posts. These will then be either automatically posted on the blog, or optionally verified by the admin first.
This is a starting point for now, new features will be added to this blog over time.
If you have a great idea that could be implemented then please send me a message using the
contact form.
Thank you for your support

Rest assured ProjectCMS 2.0 Beta will be released soon, becoming a father and the pending house move (on Thursday) have delayed me a little everywhere in life, not just ProjectCMS.
Some feedback has been received from the ProjectCMS 2.0 Beta release, and 2.0.1 Beta will be released to the public shortly after any bugs have been repaired, plus there is a couple of extra features being added to the code, mainly a Bug Report page.
Please bare with me, a public release will be made.
As of yet there isn't an official mailing list (that is one of the ProjectCMS add-ons that will be created after release), although if you would like to be notified by email when the 2.0.1 Beta release goes live then please send me an email using the 'Contact' page.
Thank you for following.

What's New:
The code has now been modified to ensure better browser compatibility, the admin panel now has very few minor layout differences between many browsers ranging from IE6 to FireFox 4 Beta the panel also works in IE5.5 although the layout starts to look a bit messy, although I'm sure there aren't that many out there using IE5.5 anymore.
The code has all been modified for compliance with HTML Tidy & SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language) to ensure further compatibility and that nothing will be broken without putting up a fight.
Remaining Work:
The code all needs to be looked through to ensure that there is no un-necessary code lurking around and to add comments to parts that could do with a little more explanation.
Finally the code also needs to be spaced out to some form of standard as it has become slightly messy with all of the modifications, which is fine for me as I know what I am looking for but this will make it easier for anybody else to modify.
The release is imminent.
